Just a reminder about our May meeting tomorrow night.
We have an iPad in attendance thanks to David and the guys from DigitalOutbox are doing a talk on podcasting.
The committee has been hard at work organising our December meeting & Christmas Social, taking into account the feedback from our members’ questionnaire. So here’s what we’ve come up with:
Date: Wednesday, 9 December 2009
Time: from 7pm
Location: Gramofon Bistro, 7 King Street, Glasgow, G1 5QZ
A Google map for Gramofon is here. It’s in the Merchant City, just of the Trongate, about 10 minutes walk from the Apple Store, Queen Street or Central Stations.
We’re booking a separate small room and the place has Wifi too, so our geeking needs should be covered.
As for food and drink, the place is BYOB and we’ve done a deal to cover the corkage for everybody. We’re also planning on ordering a selection of food from their scrumptious mediterranean menu. If you don’t want food, you don’t have to. But if you do, we’re asking a small contribution for £5 per member.
As this is a social, we’d particularly like to invite non-members. So if you’d like to bring along any friends, spouses, fellow geeks, etc please feel free. Non-members will pay £8 for food.
To help us arrange the event we would be grateful if you could fill in this very short form to confirm attendance etc.
Hope to see you all there!

#GlasMUG meeting this Wednesday at the Apple store Glasgow. Starting at 7pm. Topic: indepth look at Snow Leopard.
GlasMUG’s October meeting will take place on Wednesday 21 October from 7pm onwards at the Apple store. That’s one week later than the normal date.
The main topic of the evening will be Quinn’s presentation on Snow Leopard’s lesser known features.
We will also have our monthly prize draw of this month’s iCreate and hope we’ll be able to share some of the results from the GlasMUG feedback questionnaire. You have all completed that, haven’t you?
Sorry for any confusion over the date. Apple scheduled another event for our usual meeting slot and it’s taken a little while to confirm the new date. When we got that confirmation yesterday we had trouble with the hosting of the GlasMUG website, which meant we first couldn’t update it and then only some of the site got updated. Hopefully, by the time you read this the web site shows the correct date everywhere or it very soon will be.
Again, sincere apologies for any confusion or inconvenience caused by this change. We were trying hard to keep both to a minimum, but unfortunately events conspired against us on this occasion.
Look forward to seeing you all on the 21st!
Cheers,
Saskia

Hi All,
Just a reminder that the September meeting is tonight and we will be looking at Busy Cal and getting a presentation from the Apple Store on MobileMe and the benefits it can afford you.
We will also have our monthly prize draw of this months iCreate.
Look forward to seeing you all there tonight.

Steve
We enjoyed another successful evening at the Apple Store Buchanan Street last Wednesday as GlasMUG hosted it’s first Q & A night.
Members posted their questions in advance and submitted some on the night. The group then had a lively discussion and offered various solutions to the queries.
The Mini groups were well received, covering a little bit of Apple hardware history with ‘The What Key?’ and a look at the iPhoto print options. It was the ‘Battle of the Props’ with David out-propping photo books from Will and I with Antique Apple hardware and even a retro Apple six-colours carrier bag.
Top Ten Tips covered the tricky task of ‘Help’… guiding us in the best way to present problems to get the most from your technical support.
Definitely the place to be on the second Wednesday of each month. Hope you can join us on 12th November.

Just a quick reminder about tomorrow’s GlasMug…
Tomorrow’s main presentation is all about Q&A – your chance to get your questions answered. Well, that’s the theory! Don’t want to ask a question on the night? Email it to ask at glasmug dot com, or write it down on a piece of paper and give it to one of the committee members on the night – we promise to protect your anonymity!
Following that we’ll split into mini-groups with the topics: ‘iPhoto Unleashed’, ‘Beginners/Switchers’ and ‘The What Key?’.
Hope to see you all at the Apple Store tomorrow – Thursday 8 October from 7pm.
Just a last minute reminder about tonight’s GlasMug…
Tonight’s 30 minute presentation is from MYOB (Mind Your Own Business). They are UK-based and make accounting software: think alternative to Quicken and QuickBooks and the like. We will also be raffling off one of their products!
Afterwards we’ll split into mini-groups with the topics: iPhone Tips & Tricks, MacFamilyTree (genealogy software), and Beginners and Switchers.
Hope to see you all there tonight!
