New date for October meeting

Filed under: Apple Store Glasgow,Meetings — Saskia @ 7:40 am

GlasMUG’s October meeting will take place on Wednesday 21 October from 7pm onwards at the Apple store. That’s one week later than the normal date.

The main topic of the evening will be Quinn’s presentation on Snow Leopard’s lesser known features.

We will also have our monthly prize draw of this month’s iCreate and hope we’ll be able to share some of the results from the GlasMUG feedback questionnaire. You have all completed that, haven’t you?

Sorry for any confusion over the date. Apple scheduled another event for our usual meeting slot and it’s taken a little while to confirm the new date. When we got that confirmation yesterday we had trouble with the hosting of the GlasMUG website, which meant we first couldn’t update it and then only some of the site got updated. Hopefully, by the time you read this the web site shows the correct date everywhere or it very soon will be.

Again, sincere apologies for any confusion or inconvenience caused by this change. We were trying hard to keep both to a minimum, but unfortunately events conspired against us on this occasion.

Look forward to seeing you all on the 21st!

Cheers,
Saskia

Software Development with Cocoa

Filed under: Apple Store Glasgow,Members — Steve Johnson @ 5:55 am

Hi all,

Not like we pimp our members activities (yeah right!), but I would like to remind you all that our very own David Masters is running an event at the Apple store this Thursday evening 6pm – 7pm.

The topic will be Software Development with Cocoa, and its not what drinks you have whilst you development software!!! Although feel free to bring a hot chocolate from Starbucks with you!

David will be demonstrating the basics of Cocoa development on a Mac, looking at how easy it is to start developing. There will also be a mini-panel afterwards to answer any questions.

This event is not aimed at seasoned developers, but rather just to show an introduction to those that have wondered how you go about creating such wonderful applications.

It would be great to have a fantastic turn out at this event supported by GlasMUG, so if you can spare an hour on Thursday, pop in and heckle from the back row!

Good luck David.

Regards

Steve
